Meredith Hughes has called Wilmington, NC home since 2013. She and her husband moved to the North Carolina coast from Brooklyn, NY looking for a change of pace and to start their family. A self described “Wilmington Enthusiast”, Meredith hasn’t stopped falling in love with this town ever since.
Meredith grew up in Burlington, NC and graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a degree in Communications and Dramatic Arts. After college, she moved to New York City to pursue a career in film and television, most notably working on the series Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, as well as the Director of Development for the independent film company Archer Entertainment and as the Marketing Manager for Paramount’s premium movie network EPIX. Upon moving back to North Carolina, she joined an Emmy-winning casting office and “Wilmywood’s” thriving film industry as a Casting Professional.
Whether casting someone in the perfect role or helping them find their perfect home, it is the genuine connections with people Meredith enjoys the most, hence why the move from casting to real estate was a natural one. Great real estate agents need to thrive in fast paced, high stress situations and Meredith is able to translate her skills and background in film and television to help her clients navigate the home buying and selling process with ease. Meredith’s warm and energetic personality combined with her skillful approach to negotiation make her a wonderful addition to the Lanier Property Group team.
When Meredith isn’t working you can find her on Wrightsville Beach with her husband and two children, or with friends enjoying Wilmington’s fast-growing culinary scene. She continues to be involved in Wilmington’s film industry and she looks forward to supporting her daughter Lawson as she begins kindergarten in the fall at Masonboro Elementary.
